Our Story

We've been making Chesterfields since 1977. For most of that time, you wouldn't have known our name.

For over four decades, our family workshop has supplied some of the UK's best-known furniture retailers — both online and on the high street. The sofas in their showrooms, the chairs in their catalogues — many of them came from us.

We were the makers behind the brand. Quietly getting on with it.

Now we're selling direct. Which means when you order from us, you're buying straight from the workshop that has been crafting Chesterfields for the trade for 43 years. Same frames. Same leathers. Same hands. Without the retail markup.

Every piece is built on a solid hardwood frame, hand-buttoned and hand-finished in the UK. We don't run a production line. Each sofa is made to order — which means it's made for the person who ordered it, not for a warehouse shelf.

We take time selecting every hide and fabric we work with. The leather has to sit right, wear well and look better with age. Anything that doesn't meet that standard doesn't leave the workshop.
